So here’s an update on the my Padilla & Sons Light Weight Gi.
It kicks ass. With summer in full swing and training in a 2nd floor gym with no A/C I am very thankful for this Gi. It wasn’t until now that I realized how nice this thing is.
Action Shot:
That’s me on the bottom. Just a great, light weight Gi. I’ve had it since March 2010 and no tears or frayed edges. Gets washed after every class.

where did you purchase this gi? I’m thinking about getting a light weight white gi for the months of july/august

What can you tell me about shrinkage, sizing, and how you’ve been washing/drying it? Thanks!

Hey Georgette,
As far as I can tell there has been no shrinkage in the Gi. I wash it only in cold water, full cycle. I only hang dry it.
Since March of 2010 (when I purchased it) I’ve lost about 10 lbs of gut, but I haven’t noticed much of a difference in fit around my mid section with the Gi top or bottom. The only Gi I have to compare it with is my Koral MKM Competition size A3. The Padilla is an A4 and is exactly the same size. I’m 6’1″ and weigh 200 lbs with a 35 inch waist.
